Products can be added to an order by creating an order line. Each order line captures important details such as the product, quantity, and any applicable configurations, ensuring the order is accurate and complete.
How to add a product to an order
- From the Orders form, select an Order from the grid.
- Navigate to the Lines tab on the form header.
- Select the Add icon.
- Select a Line Type from the drop down.
Standard Line (STD) - A basic line item added to a sales order that represents a product or component selection from the catalog.
Header Options (HDR) - Grouping fields on a line item that allow users to organize line items. This helps to structure and manage line items within a sales order. - Add the Catalog associated with the line type.
- Select a Product from the Product dropdown menu.
- Add the Quantity.
- When finished, select Add.
- Select the
icon from the form header.
The product has now been added to the grid.
Customizing a product with features and options
Products can be altered further by configuring features and adding options. This lets you customize each product beyond what is initially available. It's important to note that you'll need to finalize the Product Configuration before feature and options will be able to be saved. Each feature must have an option in order for the configuration to be saved.
- Features - A primary component or attribute that can be added to a line item, such as a cabinet door, defining the key physical elements that make up the product.
- Options - A selectable variation within a feature, such as the door design or wood grain, allowing users to further customize the specific characteristics of that feature.
