Before a user can be granted access to the Insight Customer Portal, a Manufacturer System Administrator must manually create the first admin user for each new dealer company. This is done through the standard Insight Users form, not the portal itself.
Creating a Customer Portal Admin User
To create an administrative user, the user must complete this task from the Insight Web Application.
- Open the Insight Web Application.
- Navigate to System Administration > Users.
- Select the
icon from the form header.
- Fill in the required fields.
- Set the Username to the user's email address.
- From the License Type dropdown, select INS.PAL.CSU Customer User License.
- From the Authentication Type Description, select OpenID Connect.
- From the Identity Provider Description, select FLEX IDP Dev.
- Select the checkbox for Enabled to make the user active.
- Select Save.
- From the Groups tab, select the
icon.
- Select the CustomerPortalAdmin category from the grid.
- Select Add.
- From the Relationships tab, select the
icon.
- Under the Role Description dropdown, selected User for.
- Select the Organization and enter the date fields.
- Once selected, a checkbox titled Administrator will appear at the bottom of the form. Check the box.
- Select Save.
- From the Users Form > Communications tab, manually enter the user email address under the Value field.
- Select Save.
When done, you can return to the User form. Under the Action tab in the upper right-hand corner, you need to run the action Send Customer Portal Email Invitation.
Note: This Action is not provided out-of-the-box. It will have to be customized within your organization.
